for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit's Circuit Public Defender's
Office. This office has been created pursuant to the 2003 Indigent Defense Act enacted by the Georgia
General Assembly. Circuit Public Defender
David Dunn and his
staff are responsible for providing a legal defense to all indigent persons
charged with criminal offenses after January 1, 2005, in the Superior and
Juvenile Courts of Walker, Dade, Chattooga and Catoosa Counties.

Chief
Justice Norman Fletcher of the Georgia Supreme Court cuts the ribbon to
celebrate the opening of the LMJC Public Defender's main office in
LaFayette,
assisted by Circuit Public Defender David J. Dunn, Walker County
Commissioner Bebe Heiskell,
and GPDSC Executive Director Michael Mears.
On January 1, 2005,
the Public Defender's Office began operation, and
now maintains four local offices for the Lookout Mountain Circuit. These
offices are located in LaFayette,
Trenton, Summerville
and Ringgold. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.
until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
